ABC’s of BMP’s, LLC ANNOUNCE TWO NEW CLASSES AVAILABLE

Spring Hill, KS   March 5, 2009     After many requests by general contracting firms and municipalities, Shirley D. Morrow, President of ABC’s of BMP’s, LLC is offering two new classes available immediately.  The first is a ½ day workshop entitled “How to Update and Maintain a SWPPP” and the other is a full day class entitled “Post Construction Inspections”.

How to Update and Maintain a SWPPP provides hands-on training for superintendents and others who are in charge of keeping the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) current and up-to-date.  The ½ day workshop provides information on the Construction General Permit in your state and the requirements within it for the SWPPP.  It will walk you through the SWPPP to make sure it is in compliance and is a workable document.  You will be provided template forms for putting a SWPPP notebook together along with site maps and highlighters for marking up the site map with current information.  The class will also discuss what to do to update the documents after each inspection.

Post Construction Inspections is a full day class proving information to MS4 communities on inspecting permanent stormwater controls during the construction project and after to ensure proper construction and maintenance of the controls.  It will also discuss the different types of post construction controls from structural controls such as underground detention systems and ponds to vegetative controls such as wetlands and rain gardens.  This class will discuss the maintenance issues with each device as well as the problems if they are not constructed correctly.

INDUSTRY PIONEER ANNOUNCES CUSTOM APPROACH TO TRAINING

Spring Hill, KS
November 3, 2008

After training over 4,000 general contractors, superintendents, public policy makers, engineers and project managers for clients including Wal-Mart Stores, IECA, and StormCon, Shirley D. Morrow, CPESC, CISEC announced today the opening of her new training and consulting company, ABC’s of BMP’s, LLC.

Shirley has been providing training and consulting in the stormwater and erosion & sediment control industries for over 16 years. She conceived, developed and implemented Wal-Mart’s EPA-approved Stormwater Professional Training & Certification Program. She has trained and certified over 4,000 general contractors superintendents and project managers, served on the Board of Directors for the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) and was President for five years for the Great Rivers Chapter of the IECA.

Shirley works closely with engineering firms and general contractors to provide guidance on stormwater compliance with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and site best management practices (BMPs). She provides training and consulting for federal, state and municipal agencies as well as engineering firms and general contractors. She also provides expert investigations in litigation cases.
